First thing this morning, I heard a news story about refugees fleeing war and saw a video clip of a family of four, with their worldly belongings, quickly piling onto a motorcycle to seek a place of safety.
Oof. No words.
I took a PoP (Place of Pause), taking a beat to be, breathe, pray. As I did, I was moved – deeply – to say this in my heart and aloud.
You are my sisters and brothers. You belong. You belong to me.
– & –
You are our sisters and brothers. You belong. You belong to us.
Our mighty human family can and has perpetuated grave injustices upon its own members. And yet, we can be the very hands and feet that bring healing and hope to one another.
May we do so, together.
We must do so, together.
How might we companion one another through the small and big hazards that come with life? This very day. Starting where we are and with what we’ve got. I believe it is one of our great invitations and callings to do so.
And, amidst these big and global challenges, if you are – or someone you love is – in a personal place of struggle, email me any requests for prayer or extra love/juju. Don’t go it alone. ❤️
You are loved.
We belong to each other.
Let’s standTALL together and light up the world.
