Rooted (in Jesus) | A Living Branch of Seeds of Exchange

Today, I want to share a little context for those who are new here, and a fresh reminder for those who’ve been journeying with us.

Over 20 years ago, Brandon and I began Seeds of Exchange.

From the very beginning, Seeds has been about one simple, powerful heartbeat:
to light up the world so that a mighty difference can be made locally and globally, together.

Through community, storytelling, and giving, we’ve seen ordinary people step into extraordinary impact…
right where they are, and far beyond.

Last year, when BE Beloved: An Intimate, Extraordinary Journey with Jesus was birthed into the world,
ROOTED came to BE.

ROOTED (in Jesus) is a living branch of Seeds of Exchange, a space to grow deep in the presence of Jesus, grounded in His Word, formed by His love, and awakened to His way of life.

We love that Seeds of Exchange is a family composed of many people from different walks of life, faith traditions, and no faith tradition.

We want to make sure you’re able to find the content and the gatherings that most call to you.

So on our Seeds calendar and here on the blog, keep an eye out for the designation ROOTED, which means it is a Jesus-centered space.

And also know this:

At ROOTED, we come as we are and grow together. We gather around Scripture, prayer, and the quiet, steady work of the Holy Spirit. We make room for both contemplation and action, for being with Jesus and becoming more like Him in the everyday rhythms of our lives.

ROOTED is not about striving, performance, or having it all figured out.

It is about abiding.

About staying connected to Jesus and allowing His life to flow in and through us.

Together, we explore and/or practice what it means to live loved, to listen deeply, to contend in prayer, and to walk in freedom, healing, and truth.

And as we abide in Jesus, we are moved by what moves His heart.

Again and again in Scripture, we see His love expressed through care for the vulnerable, the suffering, the overlooked, and the oppressed.

ROOTED is not only about being with Jesus.
It is also about becoming like Him.

Which means we begin to live as His hands and feet in the world around us.

In small, everyday ways.
And in courageous, justice-seeking ways.

Around our tables.
In our neighborhoods.
Across the globe.

Through shared meals and local gatherings.
Through partnerships and storytelling.
Through tangible expressions of love that restore dignity and create belonging.

We pay attention.
We respond.
We love in action.

Because everyone matters.
Every story matters.
And the love of Jesus is meant to be experienced not only in word, but in real, practical ways.

This is a space for:
• Encountering Jesus personally and powerfully
• Being formed in community, not in isolation
• Growing in spiritual rhythms that sustain real life
• Living out faith in ways that are embodied, relational, and alive

ROOTED is for the hungry.
For the curious.
For the weary.
For the on-fire.
For those just beginning, and those who’ve walked with Jesus for years.

There is room for you here.

You are deeply loved.
You belong.
We belong to each other.
Let’s stand TALL and light up the world together.
