We start this PoP (Place of Pause) by taking a moment to BE STILL and cultivate peace, together. And, then, get ready to dig into the idea of vocations for you (and for all) … simple ways for you to think, speak, and do in the midst of your day-to-day life of work and relationships that are unique to you.

BE Still. Surrender.

Let go of your longing to make a difference.
Here, right here.
Just BE.
Breathe.
See what confines, what saps, what discourages and
let
it
go.

What do you feel curious about or compelled to fight for or against? What would you train for, even to the point of exhaustion, and perhaps beyond what you feel capable of doing? Imagine what or for whom you would be willing to fight. Is it in the context of your everyday, with those you currently serve and love? Or is it about reaching out to a new someone that is capturing your attention and heart?

Do you not know your something to live or fight for yet? Are you still on the hunt? Don’t compare, measure, or allow the messages that you are not enough, moving too slow, or going too fast to diminish you. Keep walking, exploring, and trusting—even before you understand it… (Read more in this excerpt from Soulfully Ablaze.)

“A true vocation calls us out beyond ourselves; breaks our heart in the process and then humbles, simplifies and enlightens us about the hidden, core nature of the work that enticed us in the first place. We find that all along, we had what we needed from the beginning and that in the end we have returned to its essence, an essence we could not understand until we had undertaken the journey.” -David Whyte

When the dignity, security, and well-being
of those who BElong to us
—one or many—
are being challenged,
let’s
do something.
Let’s standTALL.
Let’s be upstanders. Let’s shout.
My friend, to BE a part of this formidable, unstoppable army,
you need only claim it.
You
are
a warrior of love.

Ponder. Go Deeper.

What words or ideas from the idea of being a warrior of love captures your attention? Is it around the question and deepening your clarity about what you want to fight for or against? What would you sweat for, train for, with ferocity and commitment? Or, perhaps it’s around the idea of an army, a band of other warriors who oppose injustice in the lives of those near and far?

Commit. Engage.

Dialogue today in your way within your own, private, personal connection with the Sacred or with someone you deeply trust about this vocational invitation to BE a warrior. If you have a question in your heart, speak honestly about it. Ask for clarity, focus, energy … whatever you need. Commit to doing one thing today from this exchange of conversation.

Given the state of our world – the Corona virus pandemic, school and work closures, challenges to global markets and personal paychecks – we must take a few moments to BE still and to pause. These days, more than ever, there has been much clamoring for our attention 24-7 with LOUD, FEAR-based, PANIC-inducing messages – but let’s practice peace, together, amidst these stormy days. I share these PoPs so you can FILL UP with peace and navigate this wild and crazy season with strength and courage.

My love is with and for you, my friend. Have a most blessed and beautyFULL day!
