AMIDST WHATEVER IS GOING ON in your world this week – especially if the going is tough – a short and sweet nudge: Be gentle and kind to yourself … and others.
Things are being upended all ’round us – from beloved holiday traditions to everyday life rhythms of work, travel, school for kids, and on and on. Let’s take a breath … and practice being kind and gentle. If you’re physically not well or feeling worn out, take a breath … and practice being kind and gentle. If strangers or those dearest to you are wearing you out with their ways of being that frustrate or perplex you, take a breath … and practice being kind and gentle.
I do not mean to suggest this is easy (for it is certainly not) or passively diminutive (for it is certainly also not that!) – but that this is a profound, real, and difference-making way to live … and that it feels good to the soul.
A sneak peak of a few things in this note that I hope will fuel the practices of taking a breath and being kind and gentle this week: WATCH | links to some deeply inspiring conversations with friends of mine at your fingertips + READ | a wise quote from my wise man + POP | take a Place of Pause + CREATE | a toolkit for creating Bags of Love to share with those in need on your city’s streets + SHOP | an easy way to be kind to yourself and get a head start on holiday shopping this season. If you’re tight on time, scan through this note from my heart to yours and find one thing to read or do to inspire and ignite your day today.

I share these conversations with changemaking friends of mine from around the world – activists, visionaries, artists, philanthropists, entrepreneurs, educators … (the list is long and the ways to make change are vast!) – so you can be INFORMED about global happenings, discover some INSPIRATION in your life today, and be IGNITED more in your unique ways to make a difference.
I love this quote, which came from a conversation with my incredible husband, Brandon Davison-Tracy, when he joined me on the Seed Storyteller Series to share his perspective as a pediatrician the week that the COVID lock-down happened in our city.
Be kind. Especially towards those who have a different opinion than you.
Be patient. Everyone has their own story. -Brandon Davison-Tracy
Place of Pause
Be still. Surrender.
What do you need today in this time of BEing?
What do you need to let go of, surrender?
If you see it and know it,
imagine handing it off or see it floating away on the clouds.
If you don’t know what to surrender just now,
imagine your next exhale mysteriously
releasing what burdens you –
even though you don’t know what it is.
Close your eyes.
Take ten seconds or minutes to be.
I share these short and sweet PoPs so you can FILL UP with peace and navigate this wild and crazy season with strength and courage. There is much clamoring for our attention 24-7 with LOUD, FEAR-based, PANIC-inducing messages – but let’s practice peace, together, amidst these stormy days.
