Love that cannot be stopped.
The words of Jesus woven into everyday life—
fueling us (and the world)
with faith, hope, and love.
Here’s what—and who!—to expect this week … ✨
Leading Lightly in a Heavy World | James E.H. Mayer
Ohhhhh friends…
Come and meet our new friend, James.
Sometimes God introduces people in the most unexpected places.
A few months ago, while flying home, I found myself seated next to James. What began as a simple airplane conversation quickly became one of those holy exchanges where you quietly think…
“God… You’re up to something, aren’t You?”
This week, we get to introduce you to this remarkable brother.
James E.H. Mayer spent decades serving around the world with the U.S. Peace Corps and USAID, helping lead international partnerships throughout Asia and Africa—including serving as Peace Corps Country Director in South Korea.
He has spent a lifetime walking alongside communities, leaders, volunteers, and neighbors across cultures…
…yet the wisdom he carries isn’t ultimately about leadership.
It’s about becoming.
His books—The Long Arc of Leadership and recently updated, The Resting Place—invite us into a different kind of strength.
One that walks slowly.
Listens deeply.
Leads lightly.
Trusts wisely.
Hopes fiercely.
And loves always.
Fresh off a recent journey back to Korea—a place that profoundly shaped both his leadership and his life—James will share stories from decades of service, reflections from returning to a beloved place, and the quiet ways God forms us through people, places, grief, gratitude, and unexpected friendships.
Together we’ll explore questions like…
- How do we remain contemplative while living active lives?
- What does leadership look like in the Kingdom of God?
- How do listening, humility, and hope become acts of courage?
- Where is God inviting us to slow down so we can actually love well?
This conversation seems especially timely.
In a world moving faster than ever, perhaps one of the most courageous things followers of Jesus can do is become people who are deeply present.
Come hear stories from around the world.
Come be encouraged.
Come receive fresh imagination for your own journey.
And together, we’ll pray that God would continue forming each of us into women and men who carry His peace wherever He sends us.
We can’t wait to introduce you to our new friend.
