Here’s what—and who!—to expect this week ✨
(buckle up, buttercup!)

This week, I’m so excited to share our soul sister, Lauren Jacobs — a talented, multi-award-winning author, radio journalist, theologian, and advocate. Through her work as a specialist in the Old Testament and the Ancient Near East, Lauren has taught across continents and written nearly 500 articles focused on women in the Bible. She is also the author of five books and has spent years courageously reporting on issues including gendercide in China, abuse against women, faith and abuse, female ritual servitude, and more.

Lauren has contributed to more than two dozen international publications and was a TEDx Cape Town speaker in 2018, where her talk, “A Forgotten History: Where Are Our Women?”, sparked meaningful global conversation. Today, she serves on several advocacy and historical organization boards and continues to help people engage Scripture, history, justice, and the heart of God in transformative ways.

And part of what Lauren senses God stirring for this gathering is this:
“Dreams deferred are not dreams denied.”

Together, we’ll lean into those places where the trenches of life, grief, survival, disappointment, exhaustion, or heartbreak can make dreams feel forgotten, buried, or almost dead. We’ll make space to contend for hope again. For renewal. For resurrection life. For the gentle but persistent call of God that still whispers beneath the survival-mode noise:
There is more.
Do not give up.
The story is not over.

As we hear these stories and reflections together, we’re reminded that what God is doing around the world opens the door for us not only to pray, contend, and cheerlead, but perhaps to sense His nudge to step in and be part of this incredible movement of love, justice, and good news ’round the world!
