Today’s focus of our PoP (Place of Pause) is on letting go of comparisons. Amidst COVID outbreaks and quarantines, working from home and caring for family and friends, we have such varied experiences and ways that life looks.
The prismatic beauty of our mighty human family is that each one of us has distinctive experiences, gifts, and ways to be of service to others. We cannot wholeheartedly participate in this diverse tribe if we get caught in the hook of comparing our unique strengths and purposes with one another.
So, my unique and one-of-a-kind friend, BE Still. Surrender.
All is well.
In this place of stillness, you need not do anything.
Allow yourself the gift of BEing. BE silent.
A blessing: Live life alone less often. Reach out to soul friends. Celebrate the glittering gifts and destinies of those around you. Do today whatever is yours to do—no more, no less. You were made for this.
Ponder: What are the triggers, vulnerabilities, or historical patterns that set you up for comparing yourself with others? Think back to a moment when you were shriveled by a comparison— within yourself or another toward you. Go into detail. How did it feel, what was going on? What could have been different that would have kept you from going down that path of comparisons?
A nudge: Write down a bio, a description of you, in ways that spotlight and describe you as the person you are now—in radiant, powerFULL, true ways. Free of comparisons. Free of measuring. Free to BE and do you.
Given the state of our world – the Corona virus pandemic, school and work closures, challenges to global markets and personal paychecks – we must take a few moments to BE still and to pause. These days, more than ever, there has been much clamoring for our attention 24-7 with LOUD, FEAR-based, PANIC-inducing messages – but let’s practice peace, together, amidst these stormy days. I share these PoPs so you can FILL UP with peace and navigate this wild and crazy season with strength and courage.
You are loved.
We belong to each other.
Let’s standTALL together and light up the world!
