GREETINGS, MY DEAR FRIEND!! How I hope this note finds you deeply and wholly well. My love and prayers are whooshing your way this day.
Several times this week, conversations about the vitality of PLAY and REST – as parts of living a life that feels AND does good – has come up. (It’s always interesting when the same things keep “popping” up, aye?)
So, from my heart to yours this week, a nudge to commit to a moment each day for play AND rest.
I believe this can be a sacred, spiritual practice.
(Keepin’ it real … I really need this – because, to be sure, I have a tendency to take myself way too seriously and have found PLAY and REST to be the stuff that grounds AND fuels me for life. So, if you find this both intriguing and seemingly impossible, we’re in this, TOGETHER.)
About PLAY, consider this:
‘The opposite of play is not work – the opposite of play is depression.’ [Continuing, Dr. Stewart Brown] explains, “Respecting our biologically programmed need for play can transform work. It can bring back excitement and newness to our job. Play helps us deal with difficulties, provides a sense of expansiveness, promotes mastery of our craft, and is an essential part of the creative process. Most important, true play that comes from our own inner needs and desires is the only path to finding lasting joy and satisfaction in our work. In the long run, work does not work without play. –Brené Brown, The Gifts of Imperfection

Annnd, speaking of PLAY come to SRI LANKA – virtually, right now! – with me. In the video rePLAY below, JOIN IN on a special CELEBRATION – the VERY DAY a playground for children of all abilities opened in Sri Lanka!
In it, CATCH a glimpse and BE INSPIRED by a global collaboration to build a most-extraordinary playground for sight and hearing impaired children. At times the video and sound are glitchy – but we hope you enjoy this INSIDE LOOK at the energy, joy, and community that is being unleashed within and upon this special campus in Sri Lanka!
In this episode of The Seeds Storyteller Series, I have the joy and honor to talk with Reza, founder of The Power of Play, Juliet, co-founder of Lubirds Light Foundation, AND Sofia and Agustina with DOC LAND Films … and sit with my long-time soul sister, Nilmini, for opening day of this heart-warming and globally-impactFULL project.
Although the playground has been constructed and kids have begun to PLAY, funds are needed to complete this project and build more projects ’round the world.
We have until noon MST on Friday, April 28, to reach our goal.
