🇳🇵 NEPAL: The God-Story in the Midst of Devastation
This Thursday, we have the extraordinary gift of welcoming our dear sister in Nepal, Devisara Hannah Badi—a beloved friend of the Seeds community and a collaborator in our book No Longer Untouchable: A Story of Human Trafficking, Heroism, and Hope.
Hannah will join us from Nepal to share what is happening in her country in the wake of unimaginable devastation.
On August 26, a massive glacier and rock collapse high in the Himalayas sent a catastrophic torrent of ice, rock, mud, and water through the river valleys below. Entire communities and critical infrastructure were devastated, thousands of people have died or remain missing, and rescue and relief efforts continue.
And now, amid this already staggering loss, another earthquake struck Nepal on September 8. The magnitude 4.9 earthquake was centered in Nepal’s Gandaki Province, adding yet another layer of disruption and uncertainty for a country already carrying so much.
We want to hear what is happening. And we want to hear the God-story being written within this deeply difficult time.
Hannah will take us onto the ground in Nepal—sharing what she and her community are witnessing, where hope is rising, what is needed, and how we can stand with them.
And then, we will do one of the things this community loves most: we will pray.
We will close our gathering in prayer with and for Hannah, her community—our community—and the beautiful country and people of Nepal.
