Business skills for those experiencing poverty = Freedom, love & abundance | Sarah Beth Ray

Be INSPIRED, INFORMED, and IGNITED (=discovering a bit more of what matters to YOU), during this LIVE experience: The Seeds Storyteller Series with my soul sistah, Sarah Ray. We will be talking about why it matters so very much to her to see her friends experience FREEDOM, LOVE and ABUNDANCE and how she believes that bringing business skills to those experiencing poverty does just that.

The Seeds Storyteller Series is a FREE online experience that is curated and facilitated by Sarah Davison-Tracy – author, speaker, and founder of Seeds of Exchange, a community committed to making a difference locally and globally, together, through community, storytelling, and giving.

Here’s a replay of our conversation on December 17, during the Seeds Storyteller Series – or you can watch it on YouTube:

Sarah Ray’s “mantra” or “jam” is simply this: To love God and to love people. Her life’s ambition is to see her friends experience FREEDOM, to know they are fully LOVED, and to live the ABUNDANT LIVES for which each and every person is created. In her work as an international development consultant, she’s come to believe this:

Some of us need to be physically freed from situations that enslave us. Some of us need to be emotionally freed from traumatic encounters. Some of us need to be mentally freed from limiting beliefs. Some of us need to be spiritually freed to live in light and love.

One of the ways she has been able to participate in this pursuit of freedom is by training those experiencing poverty to learn business skills. These skills practically lead to more economic freedom for training participants, which can lead to greater mental, emotional, and physical freedom as a result. The by-product of economic freedom is more personal agency and reduced stress as families can make choices beyond a survival mindset. When families have the resources they require to meet basic needs, their risk of exploitation is reduced and their well-being is increased through access to housing, nutrition, clean water, medical care, education, and security. As their lives stabilize, they experience freedom to hope for their future and begin to live more and more abundantly.

We’ll talk about the one act she’s looking to encourage YOU to DO is this: Practice presence, practice gratitude. (Ahh! Good stuff, aye?)

I believe this core belief of Sarah’s will inspire, inform, and ignite your next steps,

We each have a role to play in making the life of another more bearable, more hopeful, more beautiful – even in a small way. We don’t have to solve all the world’s problems to lead a meaningful life. We need to do the kind, generous, loving thing right in front of us using the gifts and talents that we naturally possess, then repeat.

We’ll make our way, together, dear friend.
